Method
Marinating the Chicken
- 1
Prepare the Marinade
In a large bowl, mix together buttermilk, hot sauce, salt, and black pepper. Add chicken breasts, ensuring they are fully submerged. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
Breading and Frying
- 2
Prepare the Breading
In a separate bowl, combine flour, paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt. Mix well.
- 3
Bread the Chicken
Remove chicken from marinade, allowing excess to drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture, ensuring an even coating. Shake off any excess flour.
- 4
Fry the Chicken
In a large skillet, heat cooking oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, fry chicken pieces for about 6-8 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
Assembling the Sandwich
- 5
Assemble the Sandwich
Toast the brioche buns. Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun. Place a piece of fried chicken on top, followed by a leaf of lettuce and a generous amount of pickles. Top with the other half of the bun.
