Churros

Method

Churros Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Churro Dough

In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Once boiling, remove from heat and stir in the flour until a dough forms.

  2. 2

    Add Eggs

Allow the dough to cool slightly, then add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until smooth and glossy.

  3. 3

    Prepare for Frying

In a deep skillet or pot, heat vegetable oil over medium heat to 350°F (175°C).

  4. 4

    Pipe the Churros

Transfer the churro dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Pipe 4-6 inch strips into the hot oil, cutting them with scissors.

  5. 5

    Fry the Churros

Fry the churros until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  6. 6

    Coat with Cinnamon Sugar

In a shallow bowl, mix granulated sugar and cinnamon. Roll the hot churros in the cinnamon sugar mixture until fully coated.

Chocolate Sauce Preparation

  1. 7

    Make the Chocolate Sauce

In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until just simmering. Remove from heat and add chocolate chips and vanilla extract. Stir until smooth and combined.
