1. Prepare the Ribeye Steak

Remove the ribeye steaks from the refrigerator and allow them to come to room temperature for about 30 minutes. Season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.

2. Sear the Steak

Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steaks and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, adjusting the time according to your desired doneness. Once cooked, remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest.

3. Sauté Onions and Mushrooms

In the same skillet, add the remaining olive oil and butter. Once melted, add sliced onions and cook until they begin to soften, about 3 minutes. Add the sliced mushrooms and continue to sauté until both are golden brown and tender, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

4. Serve

Slice the ribeye steaks against the grain and serve them topped with the sautéed onions and mushrooms.
