Cooking Instructions

1

Prepare the Grits

In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add 1 cup of grits and a pinch of salt. Reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally for about 20-25 minutes until thickened. Stir in 1 cup of milk and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper. Keep warm.

2

Cook the Shrimp

In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Add the shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and cook until they turn pink and opaque, about 3-4 minutes. Remove shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

3

Make the White Wine Butter Sauce

In the same skillet, pour in 1 cup of white wine and bring to a simmer. Let it reduce by half, then add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and the lemon juice. Stir until the butter is melted and the sauce is well combined.

4

Combine and Serve

Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce. Serve the shrimp over a generous portion of grits, drizzling extra sauce on top and garnishing with chopped green onions.
