Prepare the tomatoes
Dice the fresh tomatoes into small pieces and place them in a mixing bowl.

Add seasoning
Chop the fresh basil leaves and add them to the bowl with the tomatoes. Mince the garlic cloves and add them as well.

Mix the topping
Drizzle the olive oil and balsamic vinegar over the tomato mixture. Season with salt and black pepper. Gently toss everything together until well combined.

Slice the baguette
Slice the baguette into 1/2 inch thick slices diagonally.

Toast the bread
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the sliced bread on a baking sheet and toast in the oven for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown.

Top the toasted bread
Remove the toasted bread from the oven and let it cool slightly. Spoon the tomato mixture generously on top of each slice.
