Method

Burger Patty Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix thoroughly using your hands or a spoon until well combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the meat mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, approximately 1/2 inch thick.

Cooking the Patties

  1. 3

    Heat the Grill or Skillet

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, you may want to add a little oil to prevent sticking.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until they reach your desired doneness.

  3. 5

    Add Cheese (Optional)

If adding cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking, covering with a lid to help melt the cheese.

Burger Assembly

  1. 6

    Prepare the Buns

While the patties are cooking, slice the burger buns in half and toast them lightly on the grill or in a toaster if desired.

  2. 7

    Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked patty, a slice of tomato, ketchup, and mustard. Top with the other half of the bun.
