Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Protein

Choose your protein (chicken, steak, or pork) and cut it into thin strips.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Vegetables

Slice the onion and mixed bell peppers into thin strips.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Cook the Protein

In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the protein strips, season with salt, black pepper, cumin, and paprika. Cook for 5-7 minutes until fully cooked, stirring occasionally.

  2. 4

    Sauté the Vegetables

In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Add the sliced onions and bell peppers. Sauté for 4-5 minutes until they are soft and slightly caramelized.

Assembling the Quesadilla

  1. 5

    Layer the Quesadilla

On one half of a flour tortilla, layer a portion of the cooked protein, sautéed vegetables, and a generous amount of mixed cheese.

  2. 6

    Fold and Cook

Fold the tortilla in half and place it back in the skillet over medium heat. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the tortilla is golden brown and the cheese is melted.

Serving

  1. 7

    Cut and Serve

Remove the quesadilla from the skillet, let it cool for a minute, then cut it into wedges. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce or salsa.
