Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Marinate the Proteins

In a bowl, combine the sliced chicken and shrimp. Add olive oil, cumin, paprika, chili powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to coat the proteins evenly. Let them marinate for at least 15 minutes at room temperature.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Vegetables

While the proteins are marinating, slice the bell peppers and onion. Mince the garlic and set aside.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Cook the Proteins

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add a tablespoon of olive oil. Once hot, add the marinated chicken and cook for about 5-7 minutes, until fully cooked, stirring occasionally. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

  2. 4

    Cook the Shrimp

In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of olive oil. Add the shrimp and cook for about 3-4 minutes, until they turn pink and are cooked through. Remove from skillet and set aside with the chicken.

  3. 5

    Sauté the Vegetables

In the same skillet, add the sliced bell peppers, onion, and minced garlic. Sauté for about 5-6 minutes until the vegetables are tender but still crisp.

  4. 6

    Combine Everything

Return the cooked chicken and shrimp to the skillet with the vegetables. Mix well and heat for an additional 2 minutes to combine flavors.

Serving

  1. 7

    Assemble the Fajitas

Warm the flour tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave. Serve the protein and vegetable mixture on the tortillas. Top with sour cream, guacamole, and chopped cilantro. Serve with lime wedges on the side.
