Method
Churro Dough Preparation
- 1
Boil Water Mixture
In a medium saucepan, combine the water, unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
- 2
Add Flour
Once the mixture is boiling, remove it from the heat and stir in the all-purpose flour until fully combined. The dough should form a ball.
- 3
Cool Down
Allow the dough to cool for about 5 minutes, then add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract until smooth.
Frying
- 4
Heat Oil
In a deep frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 5
Pipe the Dough
Transfer the churro dough into a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Once the oil is hot, carefully pipe 6-inch strips of dough into the oil.
- 6
Fry Churros
Fry the churros for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown. Remove them from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
Dusting
- 7
Prepare Sugar Mixture
In a shallow bowl, mix the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon together.
