Method

Preparation of Proteins

  1. 1

    Cooking Ground Beef

In a medium skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook for 7-10 minutes, breaking it apart with a spatula until fully browned. Drain excess fat and season with salt and pepper to taste.

  2. 2

    Using Shredded Chicken

If using pre-cooked shredded chicken, simply heat it in a saucepan over medium heat for about 5 minutes or until warmed through. If using raw chicken, cook in a pot of boiling water for 20-25 minutes until fully cooked, then shred.

  3. 3

    Using Shredded Beef

For shredded beef, cook a beef roast in a slow cooker with your choice of spices for 8 hours on low. Once it’s done, shred the beef with two forks.

Preparing Tortillas

  1. 4

    Heating Corn Tortillas

In a dry skillet over medium heat, warm the corn tortillas for about 30 seconds on each side until pliable.

  2. 5

    Heating Flour Tortillas

In a separate skillet, warm the flour tortillas over medium heat for about 20 seconds on each side, watching closely to avoid burning.

Assembling Tacos

  1. 6

    Building the Taco

Take a warm tortilla and layer with your choice of protein (shredded chicken, shredded beef, or ground beef). Top with shredded lettuce, a generous spoonful of pico de gallo, and sprinkle queso fresco on top.

  2. 7

    Serving

Serve the assembled tacos with a side of extra pico de gallo and queso fresco for guests to customize their tacos.
