Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ribeye

Season the ribeye steak with salt and black pepper on both sides. Drizzle olive oil on a grill pan or skillet and heat over medium-high heat.

  2. 2

    Cook the Steak

Place the ribeye steak on the hot grill pan and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness. Remove from the heat and let it rest for 5 minutes.

  3. 3

    Toast the Bread

While the steak is resting, toast the slices of French bread in the same pan until golden brown.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Sandwich

Slice the ribeye steak thinly against the grain. Place the toasted bread on plates, top with slices of ribeye, lettuce, and tomato. Add cheese slices on top if desired.

  5. 5

    Serve

Serve the open-faced ribeye sandwiches with a side of French fries.
