Seafood

Creamy Sauce

Method

Preparing the Seafood

  1. 1

    Clean the Seafood

Rinse the mussels and clams under cold water, scrubbing the shells to remove any debris. Discard any that are open and do not close when tapped.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Fish

Cut the salmon into bite-sized pieces and set aside. Pat the scallops dry with a paper towel.

Making the Creamy Sauce

  1. 3

    Cook the Garlic

In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.

  2. 4

    Add Cream and Season

Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in the lemon juice, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Let the sauce simmer for 5 minutes, allowing it to thicken slightly.

Cooking the Seafood

  1. 5

    Cook the Mussels and Clams

Add the cleaned mussels and clams to the saucepan with the creamy sauce. Cover and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the shells open.

  2. 6

    Add Shrimp and Scallops

Once the mussels and clams are cooked, add the shrimp and scallops. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until the shrimp is pink and the scallops are opaque.

  3. 7

    Add Salmon

Gently fold in the salmon pieces and cook for another 2-3 minutes until just cooked through.

Preparing the Fries

  1. 8

    Fry the Potatoes

Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large heavy pot to 180°C (350°F). Carefully add the cut potatoes in batches, frying until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes.

  2. 9

    Season the Fries

Remove the fries from the oil and drain on paper towels. Season with salt to taste.

Serving

  1. 10

    Plate the Dish

Serve the creamy seafood mixture in bowls alongside a generous portion of crispy fries.

  2. 11

    Garnish

Garnish with additional chopped parsley and lemon wedges, if desired.
