Salad Base

Method

Salad Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Romaine

Wash the romaine lettuce thoroughly under cold water. Shake off excess water and chop the leaves into bite-sized pieces.

  2. 2

    Grate the Parmesan

Using a grater, finely grate the parmesan cheese into a bowl. Set aside.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Croutons

If using store-bought croutons, measure out 1 cup. If making homemade croutons, cut bread into cubes, toss with olive oil, garlic powder, and bake at 375°F (190°C) until golden brown, about 10-15 minutes.

Dressing Preparation

  1. 4

    Make the Dressing

In a mixing bowl, combine the mayonnaise, minced garlic, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, salt, and black pepper. Whisk together until smooth and well combined.

  2. 5

    Add Olive Oil

Slowly drizzle in the olive oil while whisking continuously to emulsify the dressing.

Assembly

  1. 6

    Combine Ingredients

In a large salad bowl, add the chopped romaine lettuce, croutons, and grated parmesan cheese.

  2. 7

    Dress the Salad

Pour the prepared Caesar dressing over the salad ingredients. Toss gently to coat everything evenly with the dressing.

  3. 8

    Serve

Serve immediately, garnished with extra parmesan cheese and freshly cracked black pepper if desired.
