Method

Marinade Preparation

  1. 1

    Marinate the Chicken

In a bowl, combine the chicken breast, white rum, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix well to ensure the chicken is fully coated. Cover and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.

Stir-fry Preparation

  1. 2

    Prepare Vegetables

While the chicken is marinating, slice the bell pepper and onion into thin strips, and slice the mushrooms. Set aside.

  2. 3

    Cook the Chicken

Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken and stir-fry for about 5-7 minutes until the chicken is cooked through and lightly browned.

  3. 4

    Add Vegetables

Add the sliced bell pepper, onion, and mushrooms to the skillet with the chicken. Stir-fry for an additional 3-5 minutes until the vegetables are tender but still crisp.

  4. 5

    Add Brown Sauce

Pour the brown sauce over the chicken and vegetables. Stir well to combine and let it cook for another 2 minutes to heat through.

  5. 6

    Finish with Basil

Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the fresh basil leaves. Serve immediately.
