Method
Prepare the Filling
- 1
Mix the Ingredients
In a mixing bowl, combine the imitation crab meat, cream cheese, chopped green onions, garlic powder, and salt. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined and creamy.
Assemble the Wontons
- 2
Fill the Wontons
Take a wonton wrapper and place about 1 tablespoon of the crab filling in the center. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, fold it diagonally to form a triangle, and press to seal. Make sure there are no air pockets.
- 3
Shape the Wontons
Bring the two opposite corners of the triangle together and pinch to seal, forming a pouch. Repeat this process with the remaining wonton wrappers and filling.
Fry the Wontons
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a deep frying pan or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 5
Fry the Wontons
Carefully place a few wontons in the hot oil, frying them in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 3-4 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove them and drain on paper towels.
Serve
- 6
Plate the Wontons
Arrange the crispy crab wontons on a serving platter and serve warm with a side of Thai sweet chili sauce for dipping.
