Method

Burger Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Patties

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently and divide the meat into two equal portions, shaping them into patties. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up while cooking.

  2. 2

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 3-4 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes. During the last minute of cooking, add the cheddar cheese on top of the patties to melt.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Mushrooms

In a separate skillet, sauté the mushrooms over medium heat until they're golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.

  4. 4

    Cook the Bacon

In the same skillet, cook the bacon until crispy. Drain on paper towels.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Burger

Toast the burger buns lightly on the grill or skillet. Spread the secret sauce on the bottom half of the bun, then layer with lettuce, the cooked patty, sautéed mushrooms, bacon, tomato slices, and onion slices. Top with the other half of the bun.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve the burgers hot with your choice of sides.
