Pizza Dough

Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.

  2. 2

    Make Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.

  3. 3

    Knead Dough

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.

Pizza Assembly

  1. 4

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).

  2. 5

    Roll Out Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness.

  3. 6

    Add Sauce and Toppings

Spread the San Marzano tomato sauce evenly over the base. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top, followed by pickled jalapeños.

  4. 7

    Bake Pizza

Transfer the pizza to a baking sheet or pizza stone and bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and crust is golden.

  5. 8

    Finishing Touch

Drizzle honey over the hot pizza and top with fresh basil leaves before slicing and serving.
