Chili Sauce

Method

Prepare Chicken

  1. 1

    Make the Batter

In a bowl, mix together cornstarch, flour, baking powder, cold water, salt, and black pepper until smooth.

  2. 2

    Coat the Chicken

Cut the chicken breast into bite-sized pieces. Dip each piece into the batter, ensuring it is fully coated.

Cook Chicken

  1. 3

    Fry the Chicken

Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the coated chicken pieces, frying until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Make Chili Sauce

  1. 4

    Combine Ingredients

In a small bowl, mix together chili paste, soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, and lime juice until well combined.

Prepare Cucumber Salad

  1. 5

    Mix Cucumber Salad

In a bowl, combine sliced cucumbers, rice vinegar, sugar, salt, and sesame oil. Toss until cucumbers are well coated.

Serve

  1. 6

    Plate the Dish

Serve the tempura-style chicken on a plate, drizzled with chili sauce, alongside the cool cucumber salad.
