Steak Taco Ingredients

Method

Steak Taco Directions

  1. 1

    Marinate the Steak

In a small bowl, combine olive oil, lime juice, ground cumin, chili powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to create a marinade.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Steak

Place the flank steak in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the steak, ensuring it is well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for best results.

  3. 3

    Cook the Steak

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade and discard the marinade. Grill the steak for about 6-7 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until it reaches your desired doneness. Use a meat thermometer for accuracy.

  4. 4

    Rest the Steak

Once cooked, remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.

  5. 5

    Slice the Steak

Slice the steak against the grain into thin strips.

  6. 6

    Warm the Tortillas

In a dry skillet, warm the corn tortillas over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side, or until pliable.

  7. 7

    Assemble the Tacos

Place a few slices of steak on each tortilla. Top with diced red onion, chopped cilantro, sliced avocado, a dollop of sour cream, and a spoonful of salsa.

  8. 8

    Serve

Serve the tacos warm, with lime wedges on the side if desired.
