Burger Patties

Toppings

Method

Preparing the Burger Patties

  1. 1

    Mix the Beef

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until well combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each.

  3. 3

    Cook the Patties

Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired doneness.

Making the Queso

  1. 4

    Melt the Cheeses

In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine Velveeta cheese, cream cheese, and milk. Stir occasionally until the cheeses are melted and smooth.

  2. 5

    Add Flavorings

Stir in the can of diced tomatoes with green chilies, chili powder, cumin, and salt. Mix well and let it simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring frequently.

  3. 6

    Finish with Cilantro

Remove from heat and fold in the fresh cilantro. Set aside.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 7

    Prepare the Buns

Toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 8

    Layer the Ingredients

On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by a burger patty, a generous amount of queso, and slices of fresh jalapeños.

  3. 9

    Finish the Burger

Top with sliced tomatoes and red onion, then cover with the top half of the bun. Serve immediately.
