Garlic Sticky Rice

Bok Choy

Soy Glaze

Method

Tuna Steak

  1. 1

    Prepare the Tuna

Season the tuna steaks with salt and black pepper on both sides.

  2. 2

    Coat with Sesame Seeds

Press the sesame seeds onto both sides of the tuna steaks, ensuring they are well-coated.

  3. 3

    Sear the Tuna

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the tuna steaks for about 1-2 minutes on each side for medium-rare or longer if desired. Remove from heat and let rest.

Garlic Sticky Rice

  1. 4

    Rinse the Rice

Rinse the jasmine rice under cold water until the water runs clear.

  2. 5

    Cook the Rice

In a pot, combine the rinsed rice, water, minced garlic, and salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce to low heat, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes or until the water is absorbed.

  3. 6

    Fluff and Serve

Remove from heat and let sit for 5 minutes. Fluff the rice with a fork before serving.

Bok Choy

  1. 7

    Prepare the Bok Choy

Wash the bok choy thoroughly and cut it in half lengthwise.

  2. 8

    Sauté the Bok Choy

In a skillet, heat sesame oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.

  3. 9

    Cook the Bok Choy

Add bok choy cut side down and cook for 2-3 minutes until slightly wilted. Season with salt to taste and then flip to cook the other side for an additional 2 minutes.

Soy Glaze

  1. 10

    Prepare the Glaze

In a small saucepan, combine soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, cornstarch, and water.

  2. 11

    Cook the Glaze

Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring continuously until it thickens, about 2-3 minutes.

  3. 12

    Serve

Remove from heat and drizzle over the seared tuna and vegetables before serving.
