Method
Preparing the Herb Butter
- 1
Make the Herb Butter
In a medium bowl, combine the softened unsalted butter, chopped parsley, chopped thyme, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Mix until all ingredients are well incorporated.
- 2
Form the Butter
Place the herb mixture onto a sheet of plastic wrap. Roll it into a log shape and twist the ends to seal. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
Cooking the Filet Mignon

Prepare the Steak
Take the filet mignon out of the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking. This allows for even cooking.

Season the Steak
Pat the steak dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.
- 5
Cook the Steak
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the filet mignon and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare (adjust time for desired doneness).

- 7
Rest the Steak
Remove the filet mignon from the skillet and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
Preparing the Side

- 9
Roast the Asparagus
Spread the asparagus on a baking sheet in a single layer and roast in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until tender and slightly caramelized.
