Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Filling
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until the onion becomes translucent.
- 2
Add the diced carrots and cook for about 5 minutes until softened. Then, add the ground lamb, breaking it apart with a spoon, and cook until browned.
- 3
Stir in the peas, broth, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer and let cook for 10 minutes until the mixture thickens slightly.
- 4
Assemble the Pie
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Spread the lamb and vegetable mixture evenly in the bottom of a baking dish.
- 5
Top with a layer of mashed potatoes, spreading them to cover the filling completely. Sprinkle with grated cheddar cheese.
- 6
Bake
Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.
- 7
Remove from the oven and let it sit for a few minutes before serving.
