Method

Filling Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Meat

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground pork. Cook until browned and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.

  2. 2

    Add Vegetables

Stir in the shredded cabbage, shredded carrots, chopped green onions, and minced garlic. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender.

  3. 3

    Season the Filling

Add soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper to the skillet. Mix well and cook for another 2 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.

Rolling the Egg Rolls

  1. 4

    Prepare the Wrappers

Lay an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface with one corner pointing towards you.

  2. 5

    Fill the Wrapper

Spoon about 2 tablespoons of the filling onto the center of the wrapper.

  3. 6

    Roll the Egg Roll

Fold the corner over the filling, then fold in the sides, and roll tightly away from you. Seal the edge with a bit of water.

  4. 7

    Repeat

Continue until all filling is used, placing the rolled egg rolls seam-side down on a plate.

Frying the Egg Rolls

  1. 8

    Heat the Oil

In a deep skillet or frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches about 350°F (175°C).

  2. 9

    Fry the Egg Rolls

Carefully add the egg rolls to the hot oil in batches, frying for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.

  3. 10

    Drain and Serve

Remove the egg rolls and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
