Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Gather all the ingredients and prepare them as follows: Peel and devein the shrimp. Husk the corn and cut it into halves. Halve the red potatoes and slice the andouille sausage.

Cooking

  1. 2

    Boil the Potatoes

In a large pot, bring about 4 quarts of water to a boil. Add the halved red potatoes and 1 tablespoon of salt. Boil for about 10-12 minutes or until the potatoes are tender when pierced with a fork.

  2. 3

    Add Corn and Sausage

Once the potatoes are tender, add the sweet corn and sliced andouille sausage to the pot. Sprinkle in the Old Bay seasoning. Continue to boil for another 5 minutes to cook the corn and sausage.

  3. 4

    Cook the Shrimp

Finally, add the peeled and deveined jumbo shrimp to the pot. Boil for an additional 3-5 minutes until the shrimp are pink and opaque. Remove the pot from heat.

Serving

  1. 5

    Drain and Serve

Carefully drain the shrimp boil mixture into a colander. Transfer it to a large serving platter or communal table. Serve hot with lemon wedges and melted unsalted butter on the side for dipping.
