Method
Fried Green Tomatoes
- 1
Prepare the Tomatoes
Wash and slice the green tomatoes into 1/4 inch thick rounds. Set aside.
- 2
Set Up Breading Station
In three separate bowls, place the flour mixed with salt and pepper in one, buttermilk in the second, and cornmeal in the third.
- 3
Bread the Tomatoes
Dip each tomato slice first into the flour, then into the buttermilk, and finally coat with cornmeal. Ensure even coating.
- 4
Fry the Tomatoes
In a large skillet, heat the cooking oil over medium heat. Fry the breaded tomato slices until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.
Seafood Salad
- 5
Mix the Seafood Salad
In a large bowl, combine the cooked shrimp, crab meat, diced celery, mayonnaise, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are well incorporated.
- 6
Chill the Salad
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
Chili-Spiked Aioli
- 7
Prepare the Aioli
In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, chili paste, minced garlic, lemon juice, and salt until smooth. Adjust seasoning to taste.
- 8
Chill the Aioli
Cover and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes to let the flavors develop.
