Method
Burger Preparation
- 1
Cook the Bacon
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the applewood-smoked bacon until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and let drain on paper towels.
- 2
Form the Patties
In a mixing bowl, shape the ground beef into four equal patties, about 1/4 pound each. Season each patty with salt and pepper.
- 3
Cook the Patties
In the same skillet used for bacon, cook the beef patties over medium-high heat for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness. In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.
- 4
Toast the Buns
While the patties are cooking, slice the burger buns in half and toast them lightly either in the skillet or in a toaster.
- 5
Assemble the Burgers
On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked patty with melted cheddar, two slices of bacon, and finally the top half of the bun.
BBQ Aioli Preparation
- 6
Mix the Ingredients
In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, BBQ sauce, garlic powder, smoked paprika, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Stir until well mixed.
- 7
Serve the Aioli
Serve the BBQ aioli on the side or spread it on the top bun of the assembled burger.
