Prepare the Andouille Sausage
Remove the casing from the Andouille sausage and crumble it into small pieces.

Make the Burger Patties
In a bowl, combine the ground beef with crumbled Andouille sausage. Season with salt and black pepper. Mix gently and form into two half-pound patties.

Melt the Cheese
In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Monterey Jack cheese on each burger patty and cover the skillet to melt the cheese.

Assemble the Burgers
Toast the burger buns lightly. On the bottom half, layer lettuce, the cooked burger patty, tomato slice, and pickles. Top with the other half of the bun.
