Beer Battered Shrimp Ingredients

Method

Beer Battered Shrimp Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Shrimp

Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.

  2. 2

    Make the Beer Batter

In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, and ground black pepper. Gradually whisk in the beer until the batter is smooth.

  3. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a deep frying pan or pot, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). You can test the oil by dropping a small amount of batter into it; if it sizzles and rises to the surface, it's ready.

  4. 4

    Batter the Shrimp

Dip each shrimp into the beer batter, ensuring it is fully coated.

  5. 5

    Fry the Shrimp

Carefully place the battered shrimp into the hot oil, frying them in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 2-3 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.

  6. 6

    Drain and Serve

Remove the shrimp from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil. Serve immediately with lemon wedges and tartar sauce on the side.
