Phyllo Preparation

Method

Filling Preparation

  1. 1

    Sauté Vegetables

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes. Stir in minced garlic and cook for another minute.

  2. 2

    Add Spinach

Add the chopped spinach to the skillet and cook until wilted, about 3 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

  3. 3

    Combine Filling Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the cooled spinach mixture, feta cheese, beaten egg, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

Assembling Phyllo

  1. 4

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. 5

    Prepare Phyllo Sheets

On a clean surface, lay out one sheet of phyllo dough and brush lightly with melted butter. Place another sheet on top and repeat until you have 4-5 layers.

  3. 6

    Add Filling

Spoon a portion of the filling mixture along one edge of the phyllo layers. Fold the sides over the filling, and then roll it up tightly to form a log.

  4. 7

    Repeat

Repeat the process with the remaining phyllo sheets and filling.

  5. 8

    Bake

Place the stuffed phyllo logs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops with more melted butter and bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
