Beef Brisket

Method

Cooking Beef Brisket

  1. 1

    Prepare the Brisket

In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes. Stir in minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.

  2. 2

    Season the Meat

Rub the brisket with ground cumin, ground coriander, paprika, cinnamon, salt, and black pepper. Place the brisket in the pot and sear on all sides until browned, about 4-5 minutes per side.

  3. 3

    Braise the Brisket

Pour in beef broth, bringing it to a simmer. Cover the pot and reduce heat to low. Cook for 3-4 hours or until the brisket is tender and easily pulls apart with a fork.

  4. 4

    Shred the Meat

Remove the brisket from the pot and let it rest for 10 minutes. Shred the meat with two forks and return it to the pot to soak up the juices.

Assembling the Wraps

  1. 5

    Spread Hummus

Take a flour tortilla and spread a generous tablespoon of hummus over the surface.

  2. 6

    Add the Beef

Layer shredded Moroccan spiced beef brisket on top of the hummus.

  3. 7

    Add Vegetables

Top with sliced cucumber, diced tomato, thinly sliced red onion, and chopped fresh cilantro.

  4. 8

    Wrap It Up

Fold the sides of the tortilla in and roll from the bottom up to create a wrap. Repeat for the remaining tortillas.
