Method
Prepare the Tuna
- 1
Season the Tuna
In a small bowl, mix olive oil, paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt. Rub this mixture over both sides of the Ahi tuna steaks.
- 2
Cook the Tuna
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the seasoned tuna steaks. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness. Remove from heat and let rest for a few minutes before slicing.
Prepare the Fillings
- 3
Chop Vegetables
While the tuna is resting, prepare the taco fillings. Slice the green onions and set aside. If necessary, chop any larger pickled vegetables into smaller pieces.
- 4
Assemble the Fillings
In a bowl, combine shredded cabbage, pickled vegetables, and sliced green onions. Toss gently to mix.
Make Wasabi Mayo
- 5
Combine Ingredients
In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise and wasabi paste until well combined. Adjust the amount of wasabi to taste.
Assemble Tacos
- 6
Warm Tortillas
Heat corn tortillas in a dry skillet for about 30 seconds on each side or until slightly charred and warm.
- 7
Build the Tacos
On each warmed tortilla, layer some of the cabbage mixture, followed by slices of blackened tuna. Drizzle with wasabi mayo before serving.
