Burger Patties

Burger Assembly

Method

Preparing the Patties

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently until just combined; avoid overmixing to keep the patties tender.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the beef mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to help them cook evenly.

Cooking the Patties

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Pan

Preheat your grill or a skillet over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, you may add a small amount of oil to prevent sticking.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes for medium doneness. If adding cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.

Assembling the Burgers

  1. 5

    Prepare the Buns

While the patties are cooking, slice the burger buns in half and toast them lightly on the grill or in a toaster for added texture.

  2. 6

    Layer the Ingredients

Spread 1 tablespoon of mayo on the bottom half of each bun. Add a lettuce leaf, followed by a tomato slice, the cooked beef patty with melted cheese, sliced onions, and pickles. Top with the other half of the bun.
