Method

Prepare the Filling

  1. 1

    Cook the Shrimp

In a skillet over medium heat, add the shrimp. Cook until they turn pink and opaque, about 3-5 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.

  2. 2

    Mix Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked shrimp (chopped), softened cream cheese, chopped chives, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

Assemble the Wontons

  1. 3

    Prepare Wonton Wrappers

Lay out a wonton wrapper on a clean, dry surface. Place about 1 teaspoon of the shrimp filling in the center of the wrapper.

  2. 4

    Fold the Wontons

Dampen the edges of the wonton wrapper with water. Fold the wrapper in half to form a triangle, pressing the edges to seal. You can also bring the two corners of the triangle together to form a purse shape, securing them with a bit of water.

Cook the Wontons

  1. 5

    Boil the Wontons

Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add the wontons in batches, being careful not to overcrowd. Boil for about 4-5 minutes or until they float to the top.

  2. 6

    Drain and Serve

Remove the wontons with a slotted spoon and let them drain on a paper towel. Serve hot with hot mustard and sweet and sour sauce for dipping.
