Main Ingredients

Flaming Sauce

Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Pat the ribeye steak dry with paper towels. Rub both sides with olive oil, then season generously with salt and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Cook the Steak

Preheat a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the seasoned steak and sear for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare. Adjust time for desired doneness.

  3. 3

    Rest the Steak

Once cooked, transfer the steak to a plate and cover it loosely with aluminum foil to rest for 5-10 minutes.

Flaming Sauce Preparation

  1. 4

    Prepare the Sauce

In the same skillet used for the steak, reduce the heat to medium. Add the butter and minced garlic, sautéing until fragrant, about 1 minute.

  2. 5

    Add Whiskey

Carefully pour in the whiskey. Allow it to bubble up, scraping any browned bits off the bottom. Let it simmer for about 2 minutes.

  3. 6

    Finish the Sauce

Stir in soy sauce and honey, cooking for another minute. Remove from heat.

Flaming Presentation

  1. 7

    Flambé the Sauce

Using a long lighter or match, carefully ignite the whiskey sauce in the skillet. Allow the flames to subside as the alcohol burns off.

  2. 8

    Serve the Steak

Slice the rested steak and plate it. Pour the flambéed sauce over the steak and garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
