Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ribeye

Take the 16 oz. ribeye steak out of the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Rub the olive oil all over the ribeye steak to ensure the seasoning adheres well. Generously sprinkle the campfire char crust seasoning, salt, and black pepper evenly over both sides of the steak.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill to high heat (450-500°F) or heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat until it’s very hot.

  2. 4

    Cook the Ribeye

Place the seasoned ribeye on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side without moving it to develop a nice crust.

  3. 5

    Flip the Steak

Using tongs, flip the ribeye over and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, or longer if desired.

  4. 6

    Rest the Steak

Remove the ribeye from heat and let it rest on a cutting board for 5-10 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.

Serving

  1. 7

    Slice and Serve

Slice the ribeye against the grain and serve it on a platter. Enjoy your char crusted ribeye steak!
