Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Noodles

Cook the chow mein noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and rinse under cold water to stop the cooking process. Set aside.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Beef

In a bowl, combine the sliced beef, 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, cornstarch, and sesame oil. Mix well to coat the beef. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Vegetables

Slice the bell pepper and julienne the carrot. Also, slice the green onions and mince the garlic and ginger. Set all vegetables aside.

  4. 4

    Mix the Sauce

In a small bowl, mix together 3 tablespoons of soy sauce, oyster sauce, chicken broth, sugar, and black pepper. Set aside.

Cooking

  1. 5

    Stir-fry the Beef

Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned and cooked through. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.

  2. 6

    Cook the Vegetables

In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add minced garlic and ginger and stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Then, add the sliced bell pepper, julienned carrot, and snow peas. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until vegetables are tender-crisp.

  3. 7

    Combine and Finish

Return the cooked beef to the skillet with the vegetables. Add the cooked chow mein noodles and pour the sauce over the top. Toss everything together and stir-fry for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through.

  4. 8

    Garnish and Serve

Remove from heat, garnish with sliced green onions, and serve immediately.
