Method
Preparing the Burger Patty
- 1
Mix the Patty Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix until well combined, but do not overwork the meat.
- 2
Shape the Patties
Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.
Cooking the Bacon and Patties
- 3
Cook the Bacon
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove and set aside on paper towels to drain excess fat.
- 4
Cook the Burger Patties
In the same skillet, add the burger patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and add a slice of cheddar cheese to each patty. Cook for an additional 4-5 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the patties are cooked to your desired doneness.
Assembling the Burger
- 5
Toast the Buns
Toast the burger buns in the skillet for 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
