Preparation Steps

1

Prepare the Slaw

In a bowl, combine shredded cabbage, malt vinegar, shredded carrots, and a pinch of salt. Mix well and set aside to marinate.

2

Make the Batter

In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add beer and mix until smooth.

3

Fry the Cod

Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium-high heat. Dip cod fillets into the batter, allowing excess to drip off. Carefully place in hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.

4

Warm Tortillas

In a separate skillet, warm corn tortillas over medium heat until pliable.

5

Assemble the Tacos

Place fried cod on warmed tortillas and top with malt vinegar slaw. Serve immediately.
