In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, grated carrot, and chopped celery. Sauté for about 5 minutes until the vegetables soften.

Once the meat is browned, stir in the canned crushed tomatoes and tomato paste. Mix well to combine all ingredients.

Add the dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and black pepper to the mixture. Stir well to incorporate the seasonings evenly into the sauce.
Simmer and Serve

Simmer the Sauce
Bring the sauce to a gentle simmer. Reduce the heat to low and let it cook uncovered for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally. This will allow the flavors to meld together.
