Method

Lasagna Directions

  1. 1

    Cook the Sausage

In a skillet over medium heat, crumble and cook the Italian sausage until browned and cooked through, about 8-10 minutes. Drain excess fat.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Cheese Mixture

In a bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well blended.

  3. 3

    Cook the Noodles

In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the lasagna noodles according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Lasagna

In a 9x13 inch baking dish, spread a layer of marinara sauce on the bottom. Place 3 lasagna noodles over the sauce. Spread half of the ricotta mixture over the noodles, followed by half of the cooked sausage. Sprinkle with 1 cup of mozzarella cheese. Repeat the layers, finishing with noodles topped with marinara sauce and remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.

  5. 5

    Bake the Lasagna

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.

Garlic Butter Directions

  1. 6

    Prepare Garlic Butter

Melt the butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes. Stir in chopped parsley and remove from heat.

Bread Directions

  1. 7

    Prepare the Bread

Slice the French bread in half lengthwise. Brush the garlic butter mixture generously on each half. Place under the broiler for 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
