Method

Brewing the Tea

  1. 1

    Boil Water

In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil.

  2. 2

    Steep the Tea

Once boiling, remove from heat and add 4 black tea bags. Cover and let steep for about 5-7 minutes, depending on your desired strength.

  3. 3

    Remove Tea Bags

After steeping, remove the tea bags from the pot and discard them.

Sweetening the Tea (Optional)

  1. 4

    Add Sweetener

While the tea is still warm, add your desired sweetener (sugar, honey, or stevia) and stir until dissolved. Adjust sweetness to taste.

Flavoring

  1. 5

    Prepare Lemon

Slice the lemon in half. Squeeze the juice from half of the lemon into the brewed tea and stir well. Reserve the other half for garnish.

Cooling and Serving

  1. 6

    Cool the Tea

Allow the tea to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour or until chilled.

  2. 7

    Serve

In a glass, add 1 cup of ice cubes. Pour the chilled tea over the ice and garnish with a lemon slice. Serve immediately.
