Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Chop the onion, bell pepper, jalapeño (if using), and mince the garlic. Set aside.

Cooking

  1. 2

    Brown the Beef

In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the Fresh Angus Beef and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Break it apart with a spatula as it cooks.

  2. 3

    Add Vegetables

Add the chopped onion, bell pepper, jalapeño, and minced garlic to the pot. Sauté for another 5 minutes until the vegetables are softened.

  3. 4

    Season the Mixture

Stir in the chili powder, cumin, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Cook for about 1 minute to toast the spices.

  4. 5

    Add Tomatoes and Broth

Pour in the diced tomatoes (with juices) and beef broth. Stir to combine and bring the mixture to a simmer.

  5. 6

    Incorporate Beans (optional)

If using, add the drained kidney beans and black beans. Stir to combine.

  6. 7

    Simmer the Chili

Reduce heat to low, cover the pot, and let the chili simmer for at least 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Adjust seasoning to taste.
