Method
Bread Pudding
- 1
Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- 2
Prepare Bread
Cut the stale bread into cubes and place them in a large mixing bowl.
- 3
- 4
Combine Mixture
Pour the wet mixture over the bread cubes and let it sit for about 15 minutes to allow the bread to absorb the liquid.
- 5
Add Raisins
Stir in the raisins and mix until evenly distributed.
- 6
Prepare Baking Dish
Grease a baking dish with butter and pour the pudding mixture into the dish.
- 7
Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 45 to 50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
Vanilla Sauce
- 8
Combine Ingredients
In a saucepan, combine the milk, heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla extract over medium heat.
- 9
Thicken Sauce
In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with the water to create a slurry. Once the milk mixture is warm, whisk in the cornstarch slurry.
- 10
Simmer
Continue to cook, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
- 11
Serve
Remove from heat and drizzle the vanilla sauce over the warm bread pudding before serving.
