Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the clams
Soak the clams in cold water for about 30 minutes to remove any sand. Rinse them well and set aside.
- 2
Cook the spaghetti
In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving some pasta water.
- 3
Sauté garlic
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sautéing until the garlic is fragrant but not browned.
- 4
Add clams and wine
Add the clams to the skillet and pour in the white wine. Cover the skillet and cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the clams open. Discard any that do not open.
- 5
Combine pasta and clams
Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet with the clams. Toss everything together, adding a bit of reserved pasta water if needed to help coat the spaghetti.
- 6
Finish with parsley
Remove from heat and stir in chopped fresh parsley. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- 7
Serve
Serve immediately, garnished with additional parsley if desired.
