Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Caramelized Bananas

In a skillet over medium heat, melt 1/2 cup of granulated sugar until it turns golden brown. Add sliced bananas and cook for 2-3 minutes until caramelized. Remove from heat and set aside.

  2. 2

    Make the Custard

In a saucepan, whisk together the remaining 1/2 cup of granulated sugar, cornstarch, and a pinch of salt. Gradually whisk in the milk and egg yolks until smooth. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens, about 8-10 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.

  3. 3

    Whip the Cream

In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the custard mixture until well combined.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Pudding

In serving dishes, layer Nilla wafers, custard, and caramelized bananas. Repeat the layers and top with remaining whipped cream.

  5. 5

    Chill and Serve

Refrigerate the assembled banana pudding for at least 2 hours before serving. Enjoy your delicious banana pudding!
