Baked Virginia Ham Sandwich Directions
1. Prepare the Spread
In a small bowl, mix together the Dijon mustard and mayonnaise until well combined.
2. Assemble the Sandwiches
Spread the mustard-mayo mixture evenly on one side of each slice of bread. On four slices, layer the sliced Virginia ham and Swiss cheese. If desired, drizzle a little honey over the cheese before topping with the remaining slices of bread, spread side down.
3. Butter the Bread
Spread softened butter on the outside of each sandwich.
4. Bake the Sandwiches
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the sandwiches on a baking sheet and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
5. Serve
Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, then cut in half. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve warm.
