Method
Cooking Directions
Prepare the Coating
In a shallow bowl, place the flour. In a second bowl, beat the eggs. In a third bowl, mix the breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, oregano, salt, and black pepper together.
Coat the Cheese Sticks
Take each mozzarella stick and first dip it in the flour, shaking off any excess. Then, dip it into the beaten eggs, and finally coat it with the breadcrumb mixture. Make sure each stick is evenly covered. Repeat with all cheese sticks.
Chill the Coated Sticks
Place the coated mozzarella sticks on a baking sheet and freeze them for at least 30 minutes. This helps the coating adhere better during frying.
Fry the Sticks
Carefully add the frozen mozzarella sticks to the hot oil in batches. Fry for about 1-2 minutes or until golden brown. Remove them with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
Serve
Serve the mozzarella sticks hot with marinara sauce for dipping.
