Fried Fantail Shrimp Ingredients

Method

Fried Fantail Shrimp Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Shrimp

Rinse the peeled and deveined shrimp under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.

  2. 2

    Make the Batter

In a large bowl, mix the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder together. In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs and milk together, then combine with the dry ingredients to form a smooth batter.

  3. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a deep frying pan or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  4. 4

    Coat the Shrimp

Dip each shrimp into the batter, ensuring it is fully coated, and allow any excess batter to drip off.

  5. 5

    Fry the Shrimp

Carefully place the battered shrimp into the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy.

  6. 6

    Drain and Serve

Remove the fried shrimp from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot with lemon wedges and cocktail sauce.
