Preparation and Cooking
Prepare Pizza Dough
Preheat your oven to 250°C (482°F). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat up.
Assemble the Pizza
On a floured surface, stretch or roll out the pizza dough into a 12-inch round. Transfer the dough to a baking sheet or pizza peel if using a stone.
Add Sauce and Cheese
Spread the crushed San Marzano tomatoes evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Tear the fresh mozzarella into pieces and scatter them over the tomato sauce.
Bake the Pizza
Drizzle the olive oil over the top and season with salt to taste. Carefully transfer the pizza to the preheated oven and bake for about 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling.
Garnish and Serve
Once baked, remove the pizza from the oven and add fresh basil leaves on top. Let it cool for a minute before slicing and serving.
